The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Manipur has dismissed rumors on social media regarding a shortage of LPG and petroleum products, asserting that sufficient stock is available. A press release indicated that misleading information was being spread, potentially causing unnecessary panic among consumers. The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Imphal confirmed that there is no shortage and clarified that a temporary disruption in LPG distribution was due to a technical issue in the all-India Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system, which has since been resolved. IOCL assured that adequate supplies are present throughout Manipur and encouraged consumers to avoid panic and hoarding, as such behavior could pose safety risks and accidents.
