A suspected burglary attempt was reported at the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic in Kohima during the intervening night of March 10 and 11. The incident has prompted a police investigation after signs of forced entry were discovered at the facility.
The clinic, which provides critical healthcare services to retired personnel of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Assam Rifles, is strategically located opposite Heritage Hotel on Raj Bhavan Road, Officers Hill. The attempted intrusion came to light on the morning of March 11 when the clinic staff arrived for their regular duties. Upon inspection, they found that the rear window of the dental section had been forcibly broken. Further examination revealed two distinct sets of footprints on the dental stool and chair, indicating the involvement of multiple intruders.
Following the discovery, an FIR was lodged at the South Police Station, and authorities have launched a thorough probe into the incident. Security measures at the facility are also being reviewed to prevent such incidents in the future.
