This year, NDA is aiming to win 12 seats during the Lok sabha elections. Assam has 14 Lok Sabha constituencies, of which nine are presently represented by the party, BJP.
According to the sources, Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita made the announcement on Wednesday. He said, “we, as an alliance, are targeting winning more than 12 seats. Our aim is to increase our vote share by 10 percent compared to that in the last general elections.”
Further he added, “Rahul Gandhi will come and go. Such yatras took place earlier, too. Whatever they do, the Congress will not come to power in Assam for the next 25 years.”
