Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, declared on Sunday that Bir in the Kangra district will be pushed as a tourism centre and that land would be purchased to allow for better paragliding competition organisation. On Sunday at Bir, he presided over the Accuracy Paragliding Pre-World Cup’s concluding ceremony. According to a release, Sukhu said that the chowki in Bir would be upgraded to a police station and that a polytechnic college would soon be constructed in Baijnath, where new technical courses would be implemented.
