A newly constructed water supply scheme at Uchiwa Awang Leikai was officially handed over to the Village Water & Sanitation Committee (VWSC) by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Imphal West. During the handover, officials emphasized the importance of effective water management, conservation, and the judicious use of drinking water, which are vital for the long-term sustainability of the scheme. MLA Kongkham Robindro highlighted the need for unity and collective responsibility among the community, especially during challenging times, and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and harmony. Furthermore, he urged support for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in various relief camps, calling for compassion and solidarity from the public. The event was attended by notable officials including Additional Chief Engineer RK Dorendra and Superintending Engineer Soibam Oisis, who provided the public with guidance on appropriate water usage and maintenance practices to ensure the effective functioning of the water supply scheme.
