Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais requested on Friday that strong punishment be taken against those responsible for an attack on a police station in the city of Aurangabad.
Shinde and Bais spoke on the phone, according to Raj Bhavan sources.
Following an altercation between two groups near a Ram temple in the Kiradpura neighbourhood of Aurangabad, at least 12 people—including ten police officers—were hurt on Thursday after a mob of about 500 people hurled stones and bottles filled with petrol at officers trying to maintain control of the situation.
