The Assam government has announced the official launch of Guru Dakshina portal with effect from Sunday as part of the State’s commitment to financially support eligible teachers of venture educational institutions of Assam, who have been deprived from provincialization of their services, through a one-time financial settlement The portal was launched under the administrative jurisdiction of the Department of School Education and Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam. The Guru Dakshina portal can be accessed by visiting the website, www.gurudakshinaportal.org.
The online portal has been designed as a centralized digital platform to facilitate eligible applicants to submit their applications online, upload supporting documents, and track the progress of their submissions in a structured and transparent manner, as detailed in this eligibility criteria under the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Teachers of venture education institutions (LP, UP, High School, Higher Secondary, Degree College) in the State of Assam whose services were not provincialized, even though their institutions have been provincialized as per the “The Assam Venture Educational Institutions (Provincialization of Services) Act, 2011” and “The Assam Education (Provincialization of Services of Teachers and Re-organization of Educational Institutions) Act, 2017”. Retired teachers of venture education institutions whose services were not provincialized as per the aforementioned Acts can also apply. In case of deceased teacher, any nominee can apply provided he/she submits the legal heir certificate details during the application process.
