Assam Rifles Holds Interaction with Ex-Servicemen

A significant interaction was held with Ex-Servicemen (ESM) at the Company Operating Base (COB) Ukhrul under the aegis of the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South). The program was attended by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) together with senior officials of Assam Rifles, creating a meaningful platform for dialogue with the veteran fraternity.

A total of 32 ex-servicemen from the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, representing Ukhrul and neighboring villages, participated in the event. The gathering provided an opportunity for veterans to share their experiences and deliberate on matters of welfare, accessibility of facilities, and challenges encountered in remote areas. The Inspector General acknowledged the invaluable service rendered by the ex-servicemen to the nation and commended their continued role in fostering peace, stability, and harmony within society, said a press release of IGAR(S).

The veterans voiced their concerns regarding welfare measures and facility accessibility, which were received with empathy and assurance. The Inspector General conveyed that genuine issues would be examined in coordination with relevant authorities to facilitate practical solutions.
