Assam Rifles Celebrates International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day 2026 was celebrated in Manipur through various initiatives organized by Assam Rifles, emphasizing women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community welfare. A significant event, the Women’s Day Conclave, took place at Pallel Garrison under the theme “Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship – Ignite, Innovate, Lead.” Nearly 200 women attended, featuring notable speakers who shared their success stories, including Padma Shri awardee Moirangthem Muktamani Devi, Aishwarya Vikram Nadhe, Jina Khumujam, and Catherine Soyamphi AS, each highlighting resilience and creativity in entrepreneurship. In addition to the conclave, awareness programs on women empowerment and community engagement were held in Modi and Moreh, complemented by friendly games for local women. Solar lights were distributed to women in remote villages of Tengnoupal and Chandel, enhancing safety and education.

Further, Assam Rifles organized events in Longa Koireng and COB Thoubal, focusing on women’s participation in community development and reinforcing civil-military relations. In Longa Koireng, a program promoted education, self-reliance, and equal opportunities, engaging 96 participants, including 78 women. At COB Thoubal, an interaction with Meira Paibi members celebrated women’s strength and fostered dialogue for social harmony and collective peace initiatives, enhancing community trust and cooperation.
