On Thursday, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and signed an agreement, MoU for oil exploration in the disputed areas of the region for economical benefits.
The official announcement was done on Friday.
“We have discussed about our border issues and development issues. Because we have to work together, support one another and how to go forward. Assam and Arunachal Pradesh signed an agreement on border dispute today; likewise we are also discussing how we should settle our border dispute outside the court with the ethnic from both sides,” Nagaland CM said.
Earlier Assam CM have also spoke about ongoing border issues and other areas of mutual gains and collaboration.
