Assam Legislative Assembly Hosts Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament

A State-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2026 was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Assam Legislative Assembly in Dispur, marking a significant gathering of youth representatives from across Assam. This two-day program is organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), in partnership with the National Service Scheme (NSS), and is designed to foster youth involvement in democratic dialogue and public policy formulation. Participants, who qualified through district-level competitions, are presenting their views under the theme “Union Budget 2026: Strengthening the Indian Youth’s Path towards Viksit Bharat 2047.” The event will culminate in the selection of the top three participants who will represent Assam at the National Level Youth Parliament in New Delhi. The inaugural session featured several key figures, including Kausar Jamil Hilaly, Special Secretary to the Government of Assam for the Sports and Youth Welfare Department; Pradip Handique, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat; D. Carthigueane, Regional Director of NSS, Guwahati; Dinobondhu Saha, Joint Director at MY Bharat; and Jangjilong, Youth Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati.
