Assam Governor hands over assistive aids, health kits as part of Sewa Sankalp Saptah

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended a health camp at a school in Guwahati, part of the Sewa Sankalp Saptah public outreach initiative, aimed at providing accessible and affordable healthcare services. The camp, organized by Lok Bhavan and the National Health Mission (NHM), showcased a variety of health services for the community. During his visit, Governor Acharya distributed wheelchairs to Divyangjan and provided Nikshay Mitra kits to caregivers of tuberculosis patients. He also announced a one-time grant for the Jahajghat LP School to enhance its infrastructure and development.

Emphasizing the importance of service to humanity as a form of national duty and social responsibility, the Governor articulated that such initiatives reflect India’s ethos of collective welfare and compassionate care. He noted the transformative changes in healthcare delivery across the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, focusing on accessibility, preventive care, and community involvement.

Governor Acharya advocated for a holistic approach to well-being that transcends medical treatment by encouraging preventive healthcare practices such as hygiene, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and mental wellness. He urged the youth to take active roles in community service and health awareness initiatives, assigning them a crucial role in fostering a healthier and more resilient society.

He commended the efforts of NHM, healthcare professionals, ASHA workers, and volunteers, expressing confidence that such community-centered initiatives would enhance grassroots healthcare systems, build public trust, and contribute significantly to the vision of a healthier and empowered Assam. In total, 216 beneficiaries participated in the health services offered at the camp.
