Assam CM Provides Financial Aid to Families of Workers Killed in Arunachal Mishap

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those who died in the mini dumper accident in Anjaw district, Arunachal Pradesh. He extended condolences to the victims’ families during a meeting in Gelapukhuri, Assam, and wished a quick recovery for the lone survivor currently receiving treatment. An additional Rs 1 lakh was allocated from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the survivor’s medical expenses. The tragic accident occurred on December 8 when a truck carrying 21 workers from Tinsukia skidded off a mountain road and fell into a gorge; search operations led by multiple agencies successfully retrieved the bodies. Sarma directed the District Commissioner to ensure that bereaved families not covered by the Orunodoi scheme receive benefits, and emphasized the need to support the education of the deceased workers’ children.
