The Assam Cabinet in its first meeting of 2025 held on January 1 approved projects worth Rs 207.92 crore for water supply in various districts of the state. The funds, allocated under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF), aim to provide clean drinking water to households in four towns- Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, and North Lakhimpur as part of the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative. The projects will focus on improving access to safe drinking water in these urban areas. The Cabinet meeting resulted in four major decisions aimed at advancing the state’s development and infrastructure.
