Arunachal Pradesh Ministry of Health manages IMI 5.0 Conference

Arunachal Pradesh’s Department of Health & Family Welfare and USAID’s MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project held a State Media Sensitization Workshop on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0. The event, attended by Marge Sora, MD NHM, and Dr. D Padung, highlighted the importance of vaccinating eligible children and strengthening immunity. Event attracted media, health officials, and community stakeholders to advocate program success.

IMI 5.0 aims to improve vaccination coverage by targeting populations with barriers and ensuring children are included in routine immunization activities. Training is conducted at state, district, and block levels, emphasizing reaching unvaccinated and partially vaccinated individuals. The primary focus is on children aged 0-5 years who have not received any vaccines, aiming to provide life-saving vaccinations to every eligible child. Initiative ensures every child under 5 completes two-dose schedule for Measles and Rubella, marking a significant milestone in nationwide effort.

Dr D Padung, State Immunization Officer said, “Through the combined efforts of The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project, along with other immunization partners, our healthcare teams, and the backing of our community, we are steadfast in creating a lasting positive influence on the well-being of our children and fostering a stronger, healthier state. Further, Marge Sora, MD NHM, highlighted the crucial role of the media in IMI 5.0, ” It is firmly believed that by addressing vaccination barriers and implementing a targeted approach, a substantial positive impact can be made in safeguarding the health and well-being of our children and pregnant women.’’Emphasizes the importance of media in IMI 5.0, Dr. Gopal Krishna Soni, Project Director, MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation & Equity Project said, “By joining forces and fostering a strong partnership between healthcare providers, the media, and the community, we are confident in our ability to overcome vaccine hesitancy and pave the way for a healthier and disease-free society”.
