Army Day Celebrations Held by Assam Rifles Across Manipur

On Thursday, Assam Rifles commemorated Army Day 2026 with a number of significant civic engagement initiatives around Manipur, reaffirming its position as the people’s reliable ally. An annual celebration of duty, discipline, and patriotism, Army Day honors the momentous date in 1949 when the first Indian Commander-in-Chief took command of the Indian Army. A friendly volleyball tournament between local youngsters and Assam Rifles troops was arranged in Bongjang Village in Tengnoupal District. According to a press statement from IGAR(S), the lively competition, which was seen by the villagers, included 28 players competing in a friendly but competitive setting that promoted discipline, respect, and togetherness. A motivating speech was held at Sajal Kuki Village in Kangpokpi area as part of the “Day with Company Commander” project. 83 youngsters participated in the interactive session, which instilled principles of hard work, patriotism, and meaningful life while providing career counseling and information on options in the Armed Forces and civilian sectors. The Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West District, gave a first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) awareness lecture and practical demonstration at Keithelmanbi Garrison. Eighty participants were educated in critical life-saving measures by the esteemed team, which included Drs. Koijam Arun Kanta, Bankim Thokcham, Ng Aider, and H Roshnikanta. This improved preparation and confidence in emergency response, it claimed.

In the meantime, Assam Rifles held an awareness lecture on career options in the armed forces and security services at Alpha School in Kachai Village, Ukhrul District. Students were briefed by Assam Rifles personnel on the recruiting process, qualifying requirements, and the principles of integrity and service. More than 190 people participated in these programs, including soldiers, young people, students, and villages. A clear path forward for stability, harmony, and togetherness among the communities is via such targeted programs to involve the kids, steer them in the direction of peace and a brighter future, and provide them the tools they need to succeed. In keeping with the spirit of Army Day, the program’s effective execution demonstrated Assam Rifles’ unwavering dedication to solidarity, resiliency, and group advancement.
