Security forces seized a cache of arms and ammunition from Manipur’s Kakching district during a search operation, police said on Friday. One assault rifle, one 9 mm pistol, one IED, two grenades, one smoke shell, one tear smoke grenade, one detonator were seized from the foothills of Chairel Khunou hill of the district on Thursday, they said. Meanwhile, Manipur Police arrested two persons involved in extortion in Imphal area on Thursday, an officer said.
“01(one) Assault Rifle, 01 (one) 9 mm Pistol with empty magazine, 01(one) IED 5kg (approx.), 02 (two) nos. of .36 HE Grenades, 1(one) Smoke Shell (CS), 01 (one) Tear Smoke Grenade, 01 (one) PEK Stick with fuse & detonator, 01 (one) wire 3 meters (approx.), 02 (two) nos. of .303 empty case, 01(one) no. of Blank Cartridge, 01 (one) Helmet, 01(one) BP Vest, 01(one) pair of Jungle Bootsand other miscellaneous items from general area of foothills of Chairel Khunou Hill under Wangoo-PS, Kakching District,” Manipur Police said on X.
