Arkansas Launches Legal Online Sports Betting

Arkansas has officially launched legal online sports betting, with Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis accepting the first bets. This development allows residents statewide to engage in online sports wagering. Saracen Casino Resort and Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort are expected to launch their platforms in early spring. Major national bookmakers, including BetMGM and DraftKings, are anticipated to enter the Arkansas market.

The Arkansas Racing Commission oversees all gaming activities, ensuring fairness and authorizing licenses. Notably, there are no restrictions on betting on in-state college sports, allowing wagers on teams like the University of Arkansas Razorbacks and Arkansas State University Red Wolves. The state has no professional sports teams but boasts a strong fan base for teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Razorbacks’ basketball and football teams.
