A combined team of security forces, the forest department, NAB, and an Executive Magistrate destroyed around 22 acres of poppy cultivation in the Dampi area, under the Sangaikot Police Station in Churachandpur district. Three huts at the site were burned, and ten samples of poppy plants with pods were seized. Previously, on January 16, a joint operation by security forces and the Forest Department led to the destruction of approximately 10 acres of illicit poppy plantations in the Suangkong hill range of Churachandpur. This operation, conducted in the Behiang police station area under the supervision of an Executive Magistrate, underscores the administration’s enhanced efforts to combat drug cultivation and dismantle the supply chain associated with the illegal narcotics trade. Authorities also confiscated and destroyed farming materials such as salt, urea, spraying equipment, and other tools found at the site during this coordinated effort.
