Andhra Google AI Hub: Adani Group To Partner For India’s Largest Data Centre

Google has announced a $15 billion investment over the next five years (2026–2030) to establish a major AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with the Adani Group. This will be Google’s largest AI infrastructure outside the US, featuring a 1-gigawatt data centre campus, enhanced fiber-optic connectivity, and substantial green energy development. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian confirmed this during the Bharat AI Shakti event in New Delhi, which precedes the India-AI Impact Summit 2026.

CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted on X that the hub would integrate subsea cable infrastructure, large-scale computing, and sustainable energy to support advanced AI operations across India. Adani Enterprises added that their joint venture, AdaniConneX, will work with Google on both data centre infrastructure and renewable energy projects in the region.

The initiative is expected to contribute $15 billion to the US GDP, driven by increased AI and cloud technology use. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Andhra CM N. Chandrababu Naidu were present at the event, with Sitharaman commending the state’s proactive approach to digital growth.
