Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the second legislative assembly complex in Dibrugarh, Assam. This complex, along with an MLA hostel, represents an investment of Rs 284 crore and aims to enhance governance in Upper Assam. The initiative underscores the state government’s goal of making Dibrugarh the second administrative center in Assam. During the event, Shah inaugurated several projects, which include the restoration of Assam’s wetlands, expansion of Khanikar Stadium, and the establishment of the Institute of Wildlife Health and Research. In his address, Shah emphasized a transformative vision for Assam, contrasting the current government’s commitment to development with the previous Congress-led administration, which he accused of fostering violence and unrest. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, along with members of Parliament, Legislative Assembly members, and senior state officials.
