In Imphal, a senior editor of the Naharolgi Thoudang newspaper, Khoirom Loyalakpa, was ambushed and assaulted by armed assailants last night. The incident occurred around 10 pm near the Hatta cemetery, where the attackers fired two shots at his vehicle before physically attacking him. Following the assault, Loyalakpa was admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. A case has been filed at Porompat Police Station, and investigations are ongoing. As of the report’s filing, the identities and motives of the attackers remain unknown.
