Amazon.in sees 20% growth in West Bengal’s home, kitchen and outdoors segment ahead of Diwali

Amazon.in has reported a significant 20% year-on-year growth in its Home, Kitchen, and Outdoors business in West Bengal and Kolkata, reflecting a strong demand for home essentials as the festive season approaches. The region has been pivotal for Amazon, housing over 62,000 sellers and three fulfillment centers, showcasing the company’s commitment to local entrepreneurship.

Kolkata has displayed notable consumer trends, particularly in the furniture sector, where large items like storage beds and wardrobes have seen a 30% increase in demand. Kitchenware and appliances are also thriving, with pots and pans up by 25%. Furthermore, the automotive segment is booming, with vehicle tools growing nearly 40% year-on-year. Notably, the sales of electric two-wheelers have surged by more than tenfold, highlighting a shift towards sustainable options among consumers.

K N Srikanth, Director of Home, Kitchen, and Outdoors at Amazon India, emphasized the company’s focus on enhancing customer experiences during this festive season. As Diwali approaches, Amazon.in is prepared to meet the growing demand with a wide selection of products and attractive deals, ensuring that customers in Kolkata have everything they need for their festive preparations.
