Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi has called for an impartial investigation into the recent cancellation of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 results by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). The results, which were announced on Monday, were retracted just ten minutes later, prompting Gogoi to express concerns over APSC’s integrity, labeling it as “the most corrupt institution in Assam.” He pointed to the public uproar stemming from the omission of candidates favored by the Assam Chief Minister, suggesting that this was a motive behind the results being withdrawn.
The cancellation has left candidates in a state of uncertainty and has reignited skepticism regarding APSC’s credibility, especially in light of past irregularities that led to the arrest of its former chairman, Rakesh Paul, along with several commission members and employees. On Monday, APSC cited an “inadvertent error” as the reason for the cancellation in a notification issued to clarify the situation.
The original results were announced in February 2026, as indicated by letter No. 460PSC/CON/Exam-37/2024-2025. The Principal Controller of Examinations confirmed that the results have been annulled and that a revised select list will be prepared following an extensive review to correct the identified errors. APSC has promised a fresh list will be posted soon.
