Akasa Air celebrates three successful years of operations

Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, celebrated its third anniversary by achieving a remarkable milestone of flying over 19 million passengers, with 8 million carried in the past 12 months alone. Launched on August 7, 2022, with a Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight, Akasa has now expanded its network to 28 cities including five international destinations, backed by a fleet of 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

Founder and CEO Vinay Dube emphasized Akasa’s commitment to becoming a “generational institution in global aviation,” with a focus on safety, people-first policies, and innovation. The airline boasts a 49% revenue jump in FY25, industry-leading load factors over 87%, and the lowest cancellation rate in Indian aviation.

In Kolkata, Akasa has quickly earned a strong reputation among leisure and business travelers alike. With its modern fleet, consistent on-time performance, and popular services like Café Akasa and pet-friendly travel, the airline has seen growing footfall and loyalty in the eastern gateway city. Local travel agents report increased preference for Akasa on both domestic and Gulf routes. Looking ahead, Akasa plans to expand into ASEAN and SAARC regions while leveraging new hubs like Navi Mumbai and Noida airports, staying on track to be among the world’s top 30 airlines by 2030.
