Recently several shops were completely gutted after a major fire broke out at Them Basuk, Madanriting, of Shillong city on Thursday night. As per sources, the fire was actually caused due to short circuit in one of the shops. In fact the former ‘Rangbah Shnong’ (Headman) of Madanriting, David Kharkongor, is the owner of the building where these shops are located. It is also reported that a vehicle and a two-wheeler, which were parked near the shops were also partially damaged. In reality six fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire including two which that belong to the Army. Fortunately the fire fighters eventually managed to douse the blaze.
This is actually very sad incident as fire broke out and effected lives of many people. In reality we need to be very careful and use electricity with full knowledge so that no accident occurs in future. People should be very careful from this type of event so that it doesn’t occur and if it happens then people can control the situation.
