In a significant breakthrough, the cops of Panitanki Outpost of Siliguri Metropolitan police recently arrested a member of a notorious gang involved in snatching activities. Actually the arrested accused has been identified as Basukinath Saha (22), a resident of Dabgram area. As per police sources, about one and a half months ago, an individual was returning home after completing a videography work at a marriage function. Actually during this, the accused and one of his accomplice followed the individual near Pakurtala More and pushed him down. Subsequently, both the miscreants actually attempted to snatch the video camera, however they did not succeed.
In fact after the incident, a written complaint was filed at the Panitanki Outpost. After this based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and traced the miscreants by examining the CCTV footage and additional tip-off information. Meanwhile, both the snatchers had fled the city and a hunt continued to nab them. Significantly, one and a half month after the incident, the police actually gained success in arresting an accused. On Saturday, the police presented the accused before the Siliguri court, while further investigation is underway.
