According to a media source on Tuesday, an Afghan Taliban delegation made a covert trip to Islamabad recently to discuss how to address Pakistan’s worries about the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is a banned organisation.
According to the Express Tribune daily, which cited sources, the TTP and threats to Pakistan were discussed by a mid-level delegation led by Abdullah Ghazanavi, the chief of the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI), who was confirmed by Taliban officials in Kabul.
The mission was a follow-up to a high-profile delegation’s briefing on the measures taken by the Afghan government to deal with TTP during their visit to Kabul last month, which was led by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
