8 Meghalaya students awarded Rs 1 crore scholarship

Eight students from Meghalaya have been awarded prestigious full scholarships under the Talent Identification Programme (TID), a collaboration between the Directorate of School Education and Literacy, Meghalaya, and the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad. The scholarships, each valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, will support the selected students’ education from Class VI through Grade 12 at the Aga Khan Academy, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The TID programme was first conducted in the financial year 2022-23 and again in 2024-25. In each phase, four students were selected based on their exceptional academic abilities, bringing the total number of beneficiaries from Meghalaya to eight students.

The eight students who earned the scholarships are Kheinkor Marthong (Mawrang Upper Primary School, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills), Banteibok Marwein (St. Xavier’s Secondary School, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills), Jefferson Pariong (St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills), Anubhav Dey (Dr. Radhakrishna Boys Secondary School, Shillong, East Khasi Hills), John Kennedy Puwein (Sibsingh Memorial Government Higher Secondary School, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills), E-phrangdame G Pariat (Shillong Public Secondary School, Shillong, East Khasi Hills), Wamon War (Government Public School, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills) and Rangkynjai J Tariang (Shillong Public Secondary School, Shillong, East Khasi Hills) over two years, in two phases, that is 2022-23 and 2024-25.
