Lok Sabha party member election for 2024 has began, 47 aspirants from Assam has filed their application for Congress tickets. Although, northeastern states has 14 Lok Sabha seats.
The deadline for the application submission is on Tuesday but sources said that deadline can be extended as Parliament session is going on.
Sources confirmed, “We have so far received 47 applications for various Lok Sabha seats. Among them, there are many women aspirants. Barpeta MP Abdul Khaleque got his application form collected on Monday, though the other two MPs – Pradyut Bordoloi from Nagaon and Gaurav Gogoi from Kaliabor – are yet to take their papers.”
